Living with Courage: My Journey Through Illness and Hope

When I first noticed my left eye was misaligned, I thought it was just a small, funny problem. But soon, everything changed. Finding out that I had a rare brain tumor pressing on a nerve was terrifying and overwhelming. That moment made me realize how fragile life can be, and how quickly things can take a serious turn. It was scary, but it also made me appreciate every moment more deeply.
The surgery and treatments were some of the hardest experiences I have ever faced. Even after the tumor was removed and my eye surgery was done, I still deal with chronic pain and thyroid problems. But through all of this, I have been supported by an incredible medical team and loved ones who never gave up on me. Their care gave me strength, and I learned that courage isn’t about never feeling afraid — it’s about facing challenges despite fear.
Now, almost a year in remission, I am back to pursuing my dreams in college. Studying psychology and music fills me with joy and purpose. Singing in choirs and acting in theater remind me of the beauty in life and help me express what words sometimes cannot. I also hope to become a therapist one day, to support others who face their own battles, just like I have.
My journey has been difficult, but it has taught me the power of faith, hope, and resilience. Each day is a new chance to live bravely and fully, no matter what challenges come. I am proud of how far I’ve come, and I am excited to keep writing my story — one strong, hopeful day at a time.
