Great Dane dog takes care of abandoned monkey

While working at the primate sanctuary in Leicestershire, England, Molly Badham had a most unusual but remarkable helper — a Great Dane named Coaley. Far more than just a pet, Coaley took on a nurturing role, helping to care for several animals at the sanctuary with a calm and loving presence.
Among the animals Coaley looked after was a young monkey, fragile and in need of constant care. From the very first moment they met, the baby monkey clung to Coaley, and an instant bond formed. It was as though they recognized something kind and comforting in each other.
Coaley treated the tiny monkey with the gentleness of a parent — letting it climb on his back, curl up beside him, and even nap against his warm fur. The monkey, in turn, followed Coaley everywhere, never wanting to leave his side. They became inseparable companions, a heartwarming example of cross-species love.
This touching relationship between a dog and a monkey shows the incredible emotional intelligence animals can possess. In a world full of differences, their friendship is a reminder that care, compassion, and connection can be found in the most unexpected places.
