Carried by Love, Not Limits

The story of Kevan Chandler and his friends is truly inspiring and heartwarming. Despite his Spinal Muscular Atrophy, which made walking impossible, Kevan did not let his physical limits define his life. With the love and support of six dedicated friends, he embarked on an unforgettable journey across Europe. This story reminds me that true friendship and determination can overcome even the greatest obstacles.
What touched me most was the way Kevan’s friends created a special backpack to carry him, ensuring he could experience every moment of their adventure. They didn’t just help him—they shared the journey with him, making sure he felt included and valued every step of the way. Their actions showed me the real meaning of accessibility, which isn’t just about physical spaces but about kindness, empathy, and willingness to help others.
Together, they explored beautiful places like the streets of Paris, English castles, and even the cliffs of Skellig Michael in Ireland—places that are challenging even for those without disabilities. This part of the story made me feel hopeful and motivated. It showed me that with love and teamwork, no dream is too big and no destination is unreachable. Kevan’s journey is a powerful example of how we can break down barriers by carrying each other through life.
Finally, Kevan’s project, We Carry Kevan, inspired me deeply. It shows how one incredible journey can lead to many more, helping others with disabilities find their own adventures. This story is a beautiful reminder that the greatest journeys are not just about walking alone, but about sharing love, support, and courage. It truly moved me and made me believe in the power of friendship and human connection.
